AMMA – MAKING LIVELIHOOD SELLING AGARBATTIS

We see so many beggars on the street, Red lights etc. in our day to day life. Many of them are found asking us for a small monetary help.  And some are found selling various goods.

The ones who are found begging for money are great actors in my eyes. They do make so many fake faces at a time. And they make us feel that there life is full of pityness. And it seems as if, it will get miserable if we don’t help them at all.

They act so well that we are compelled to feel soory for them. Also it seems like as if we will be ruining our ‘karma’ if we do not gift them with a small or large amount of monetary help.

Sometimes, we also get to know that the monetary help which we have extended to them is certainly useless.  Relatively, it is actually of no use for them as it is their daily job/business.

They actually live on that only. Some of us get to know about it instantly and some of us know about it in longer period of time.  Such longer time taking realization takes place after re-visiting their site of job again-and-again.

Compared to this when we see some beggars who are selling various products, gets much better respect in our eyes. As they are th ones who are working really hard to earn their livelihood in the same place at same time. They desrve our complete resect.

Though most of the times we still end up not buying goods being sold by them. But still,  it depends on the need, necessity, attractiveness and the care we bring in for the respective street seller.

Micro Small Street Merchants

I strongly believe calling these people as beggars is strictly unfair and would like call out a better name for this as “Micro Small Street Merchants”.

I recently came across a 70+ year’s old, micro small street merchant.

Though her name is unknown but people do call her “Amma”.

Her acting skills look extremely well to me.

If she would have chosen the path of being a street beggar. Then, in that case,  I believe she must have made great numbers doing that job. But I loved her dignity and trying to sell agarbattis to earn her livelihood at this age.

She is usually found at the Red lights of Noida Sector -18 and Sector 27. And there are so many other micro small street merchants in the entire country (India).

As good human beings, we must help them by buying some products from them.

Of course, we need not to buy and stuff goods in our car, house, store room, warehouse etc, but to buy only the necessary products to help these people.

One act of kindness with a purpose is a great deed to meet the need is a great virtue.
